A CHARITY fun day at a Northallerton pub has raised more than £3,000 for a hospital cancer ward.
The Nags Head held the festival event on Sunday, August 5 in aid of the Sir Robert Ogden Unit at the Friarage Hospital, in support of customer and patient, Wendy Claxton.
Landlady Christine Plant said: "The event was prompted by our customer Wendy and her husband Stephen.
My husband Darren had his head and beard shaved, and so far we have raised more than £3,000 for lung cancer, although we haven't got our final total yet.
"The day was a huge success. We had a very successful raffle with the top prize of an overnight hotel stay and spa afternoon being donated back by the winner to then auction off which raised another £150."
