YOUNGSTERS from across the Girlguiding community came together for a day of fun at the weekend.
More than 100 Rainbows, Brownies and Guides from Barnard Castle, Startforth, Middleton-in-Teesdale, Staindrop, Gainford and Cockfield took part in Hubabaloo, a multi-activity day on Saturday, July 7.
Based at the TCR Hub, in Barnard Castle, the girls enjoyed a varied programme of activities including scaling the high ropes, canoeing, archery, pottery and a shadow art drama workshop.
At the end of the day, the girls who are all aged between five and 14, were presented with a badge by division commissioner Debby Brown and event organiser Karen Thompson.
Mrs Thompson said: “We have had a fantastic day with wonderful weather, the Unit Leaders and I are all so proud of the girl’s achievements today, they have all tried their hardest with each activity and had great fun in doing so. This is our fifth Hubabaloo event and if I can say so, the best ever."
Cockfield Brownie, Elle Hall, seven, said: “I’m really pleased to have taken part today because it was so much fun, my favourite activities were the canoeing and high ropes."
