A FAMILY-RUN Northallerton business appears in a new advertising campaign by Calor.

Wm McIvor & Son, which has served the farming and equestrian community for more than 50 years, uses LPG to fuel its forklift trucks (FLTs) to move products and goods around its sites.

Now owner Jason McIvor appears in the “Igniting Your Day”advert for Calor, the UK’s leading provider of LPG and sole supplier of BioLPG for businesses.

He said they had used gas to power their forklift trucks for 20 years. “It provides an easy to use and cost-effective fuel solution,” he said.

“It’s easy to monitor the exact amount of fuel that is being used with LPG to help track spend, unlike diesel and electric models, and the fuel is more environmentally-friendly too, which is important to us as a rural business.”

The advert is being shown nationally on Sky AdSmart and Video on Demand. It is also on Calor’s YouTube channel at youtube.be/KqemhYTSSVE .

Andy Kellett, FLT specialist at Calor, said: “It’s been great to include Wm McIvor & Son as one of the highlight businesses in the ad, with them having used LPG for 20 years.

“To us, this showcases why LPG has established itself and continues to maintain a strong reputation as the fuel of choice for FLT operators.”

Calor recently launched BioLPG, which is chemically indentical to LPG but from renewable feedstocks. FLT fleets using LPG do not need to alter anything to use BioLPG, which offers carbon savings of at least 20 per cent, and potentially 32 per cent, based on a blend of 40 per cent BioLPG and 60 per cent conventional LPG.
