VOLUNTEERS are needed to help make the Man Engine’s visit to the region a great success.
Described as an “engineering miracle,” the Man Engine is the largest mechanical puppet ever constructed in the UK. The gentle giant represents a Cornish miner and was created by Golden Tree Productions as a striking tribute to Cornwall’s rich mining heritage.
Excitement is building ahead of his visit to Willington on Saturday, June 30, with thousands of people of all ages expected to turnout and watch the spectacle. The fun will get underway in the town centre at noon, with the Man Engine’s performance to start at 3pm.
Northern Heartlands, which is organising the visit, is appealing for volunteers to help out on the day. Tasks will include marshalling pedestrian routes, answering queries from members of the public and gathering feedback.
