A ROW of four bungalows were damaged in a fire at Seamer near Stokesley yesterday.

At its height six pumps were tackling the fire which was first reported at about 11.34am as a small fire in a garden.

One pump was initially sent but further calls came in and the number was quickly increased to four and then to six as it was reported the flames had reached the roof space.

Fire crews used two sets of breathing apparatus and two hose-reel jets to tackle the flames.

Everyone was evacuated from the bungalows and it is believed no-one was hurt in the incident, which was under control by shortly after 1pm.

Crews removed rood tiles and remained at the scene for several hours damping down.
