A TRAVELLER site has been visited by emergency services and Trading Standards to investigate possible “criminal or civil offences” being committed by occupants.

Durham Police attended the Honeypot Lane site in Darlington on Wednesday morning where a number of lease breaches were found.

The police were joined by County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service, Npower and Durham County Council for the multi-agency visit.

A spokesman for Durham Police said: “The site managers were compliant and welcomed the agencies on to the site.

“As a result of the visit, a few breaches of the lease were identified which will be fed back to managers.”

The spokesman confirmed that the agencies will form a new partnership which will see similar checks made at traveller sites in Darlington in the future.
