THE search is on to find the best amateur, emerging and experienced artists to enter an annual exhibition in a riverside Victorian railway building.

The Station in Richmond is hosting A Spot on the Wall exhibition in its free gallery space.

It will return after a year’s break, which saw the Manchester Academy of Fine Arts take centre showing.

Visitors can purchase the displays, which range from photography and oils to watercolours, acrylics, ceramics and textiles.

Thea Treweek, gallery co-ordinator, said: “This is a great opportunity for artists to reach out to a large number of customers over the summer holidays.

“As a piece of art is sold from the artist's spot, they replace it with another. This is great for the artist, as there are virtually unlimited opportunities for sales, but it is also great for visitors, as the exhibition looks different every time."

It will be held from Saturday, July 21 until Wednesday, September 5.
