A TEESSIDE waste haulage and recycling company is investing £600,000 to expand its fleet of vehicles.
Scott Bros says it is to meet increasing demand for skip hire, waste disposal and recycling services.
The vehicles include two skip loaders, a Mercedes tipper wagon, and a low-loader, with plans to also buy two tipper grabs in the coming months.
The total number of vehicles in the fleet now exceeds 50, which operate across Teesside and the North-East.
The 18-tonne skip loaders add to its skip hire operation, while the 32-tonne Mercedes tipper wagon transports and delivers materials to its range of recycling sites.
The new 80-tonne low loader transports a variety of machinery and equipment across the UK, while the two tipper grab trucks will replace older versions.
The can haul 16 tonnes, and also have self-loading capabilities and overhead loading arms.
Peter Scott, transport manager, said: “The recent fleet expansion is essential to support the increasing demand we are experiencing.
“We are aiming to increase the company’s provision of skip hire in the North-East this year, so we need a higher quantity of vehicles to allow this to happen.”
