BUSINESSES and community groups are invited to come together to prepare for the Tour de Yorkshire’s arrival.

Two roadshows are planned in Ryedale to ensure businesses have the information they need to use the race to attract customers or raise their profile, and community groups to help plan events.

The sessions, hosted by Welcome to Yorkshire, will also present people with a question and answer opportunity.

Cllr Luke Ives, chair of Ryedale’s Policy and Resources Committee, said: “Having the Tour de Yorkshire pass through our district offers a wonderful opportunity to showcase our area on a national and international scale.

“I recommend that local businesses and community groups who want to get involved in the race attend one of these road shows to make sure that they’re making the most of this opportunity.”

The first is to be held at the North York Moors National Park Authority HQ in Helmsley at 5.30pm on March 6.

The second will be held at The Black Swan in Pickering at 2pm on March 12.
