A SPECIAL open day revealing the finds thrown up by a major archaeological exploration of an ancient village is being held this Saturday, February 10.
Volunteers have been working with experienced archaeologists in the Roads to the Past project at Thornton Le Street, near Northallerton.
The scheme is part of a £90,000 exploration backed by the national heritage lottery fund.
The open event is being held at Thornton le Street village hall from 10am on Saturday.
Items which have been unearthed will be on display, along with a Geophysical survey, and a series of talks are being given by experts and volunteers.
There will also be information on how to get involved in this year’s events which include further digs and explorations.
