A NORTHALLERTON construction company has appointed apprentices to a new multi-skilled initiative.
Tom Willoughby has created a multi-skilled apprenticeship instead of the traditional single-skilled course.
Three boys are on the new course, while another two are employed on a joinery apprenticeship and a degree apprenticeship.
Darren Johnson, managing director, said: "To have a multi-skilled workforce is extremely important to keep costs for our clients down, and we’re really pleased with the local colleges who have responded with the new apprenticeships."
Tom Willoughby’s college apprentices are 19-year-olds Joe Daley and Antony Huckle, who both study at New College Durham; Brandon Catherall, 20, who studies at East Riding College and Robbie Hirst, 18, who studies at Harrogate College.
Danny Harker, 24, from Bedale, is studying a five-year degree apprenticeship at Northumbria University.
