ORGANISERS of a charity walk through a picturesque part of the Yorkshire Dales are inviting people to sign up.

Every spring, Wensleydale Rotary Club organises two circular walks, one 23 mile challenge and a second shorter one of 12 miles, both of which start and finish in Leyburn.

The walks help local charities, including the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

The next Wensleydale Wander will run on Saturday, April 8 and will begin at 9am in Leyburn’s Grove Square. Drinks are provided at checkpoints along the routes, which are sign-posted and marshalled. Warm food is provided at the halfway point of the longer walk and all walkers receive a hot meal on finishing at Wensleydale School, from noon until 5pm. Showers are also available.

Entrants should gather for registration at Wensleydale School, where free car parking is on offer. Walkers have a maximum of eight hours to complete the walks and entries should be received prior to the event.
