THE Mayor of Sedgefield's Charity Ball has been hailed a success after raising £4,500 for his three chosen causes.
Hardwick Hall Hotel, near Sedgefield, welcomed 240 guests for the annual black tie fundraiser in aid of the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation (SBRF), the Lullaby Trust and Friends of Sedgefield Harriers.
Among those who attended the event earlier this month was Lady Elsie Robson and Liz Luff from SBRF, Craig and Michelle Tither from the Lullaby Trust, and Steve Foreman and Tracy Brown from FoSH.
Mayor of Sedgefield, Cllr Chris Lines, said: “I am delighted with how well the ball went. We raised a lot of money for some excellent causes and guests seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves.
"I am very grateful to everyone who supported the event from Sedgefield and around the region.
"In particular, I would like to thank my wife Catherine, my family and friends, fellow town councillors, civic guests, auctioneer Chris Rowsby, and above all, the team at Sedgefield Town Council who worked so hard to ensure that the ball was such a success.”
On the menu for ball-goers was musical entertainment, an auction, tombola, bottle draw, photo booth and party game aided by former international athlete and current BBC Radio Five Live commentator Allison Curbishley.
