YORKSHIRE’S oldest pygmy goat has become a great-grandmother with the arrival of two baby pygmy goats at Easingwold’s Maize Maze.
The pair will join Daisy, 19, as some of the star attractions at the maze, which opens at 10am on Monday.
Farmer and maze owner Paul Caygill said Daisy was three years away from eclipsing McGinty, Britain’s oldest goat ,who died in Hampshire in 2003, having lived for more than 22 years.
The random design maze features a central tower and hundreds of thousands of maize plants covering six acres, off the A19 Easingwold bypass.
Since opening 13 years ago, the maze has made headlines when Ginger the Kune Kune pig accidentally swallowed a visitor’s diamond ring which was never recovered. and pygmy goats were stolen before being found in Teesside. For details, visit easingwoldmaize.co.uk
