TWO paintings by Richmond artist Andy Thursfield have been showing in a leading London gallery this week.
Panter and Hall Gallery, in Pall Mall, has a small selection of work from the New Light Prize Exhibition of northern art which opened at the Bowes Museum last October.
Mr Thursfield's original painting sold at the private view, and when the exhibition moved to Harrogate’s Mercer Gallery this year it was replaced with another of his recent pieces.
He was delighted when he wsas told his work was to be shown in London, and even more so when New Light judge and gallery owner, Matthew Hall, selected two of his latest paintings.
The highly detailed watercolours are simultaneously depictions of feathers and portraits of Charlie "Bird" Parker. The exhibition can be viewed until today online at www.panterandhall.com/exhibition/new-light.
