A ROTARY club has celebrated its 81st charter with a formal dinner evening with members and local dignitaries.
Vice chairman of Thirsk Rotary Club Colin Musgrave said the evening, held at the Angel Inn, Topcliffe, near Thirsk, on Saturday, March 12, was enjoyed by all.
Guest speaker was Lord Lieutenant for North Yorkshire Barry Dodd CBE, who gave an informative and interesting talk.
Mr Musgrave said: “More than 80 guests attended the event, which is a dinner with formal proceedings, including toast to Rotary International and guests by club president Colin Brown."
Guests included chairman of governors at Thirsk School and members of other Rotary clubs.
Mr Musgrave added: “The night was a good opportunity to come together and promote the work of Rotary, which raises money for local events as well as international campaigns."
