CLEVELAND Police is seeking the views of communities from across the force area on how best to involve local people in policing.
Independent Advisory Groups (IAGs) are a national initiative, which were introduced following the report into the murder of black teenager Stephen Lawrence in London, where the Metropolitan Police Service was criticised for losing contact with communities, particularly black communities.
The groups aim to be a reflection of local people, including a wide range of minority groups.
To fill in the questionnaire visit http://www.cleveland.pcc.police.uk/Take-Part/Strategic-Independent-Advisory-Group-Questionnaire.aspx
All responses will be treated confidentially. Comments on the attached draft IAG Guidance would also be welcomed. Please send to pcc@cleveland.pnn.police.uk.
