IMPROVEMENTS will shortly be under way at Saltburn cemetery and a friends' group is to hold a pie-and-pea supper to help to pay costs.
A large information board is being prepared and railings, seating and planters ordered.
The Friends of Saltburn Cemetery held their first annual meeting at the town's library on February 18 and decided to hold a quiz and bingo with pie-and-pea supper at the Conservative Club on Wednesday April 8.

A promise of financial help has been received from Impetus Environmental Trust provided the friends' group raises 10 per cent.
Officers elected: chairman, John Robinson; vice-chair and secretary, Deana Jefferson; treasurer, Barbara Britton; independent accounts' inspector, Philip Thomson.
