Craig Gott will replace the suspended Gary Brown for Darlington tonight - if the games gets their go-ahead.
Quakers are due to face second-bottom Norton & Stockton Ancients at Heritage Park in what would be the club's first home fixture for a month.
But the game is under threat with freezing temperatures forecast.
The club have appealed for assistance to clear the pitch of snow and volunteers are asked to arrive at the ground for 9.30am with shovels.
Since Darlington have left 2in layer of snow on the pitch on as insulation while they covered vulnerable areas of the playing surface.
Should the game be played, midfielder Gott would return for his first match since December 19 having recovered from an ankle knock.
He missed wins at Norton and South Shields with new signing Jonny Davis taking his place in midfield.
Manager Martin Gray plans to play Gott at centre-back as Brown serves a one-match ban for reaching five yellow cards, a suspension that would instead be served at Sunderland RCA on Saturday if this evening's match is postponed.
Quakers' next home match after tonight is against Shildon next Wednesday, which could be preceded at Heritage Park 24 hours earlier by Bishop Auckland playing Sunderland RCA in the Durham Challenge Cup.
Their tie at Sunderland RCA was postponed last night due to a frozen pitch and has been re-arranged for next Tuesday - the Durham FA have ruled that the game must take place on January 22.
The clubs have also been informed that the tie should be staged on at whichever ground is believed to be in best condition.
RCA and Bishops will make a decision on Saturday after their respective home games.
