THE wet weather decimated the fixture list with all six games in Division One postponed last Sunday, while only one survived in Division Two.

Second-placed Appleton Wiske travelled to bottom side The Ship and were surprisingly beaten 8-0.

Coming into the match with only one league defeat to their name, Wiske were expected to win comfortably but that was not quite how it turned out. Ben Holmes gave The Ship an early lead and the match was over as a contest before the break as Scott Ryan, with a brace, and Lee White made it 4-0.

It was similar story in the second period as Tom Keegan struck twice, while White, with a penalty, and Ryan, to complete his hattrick, sealed the surprise result of the season so far.

Three games managed to beat the weather in Division Three. Farmers Arms, who have been struggling of late, saw off Northern Dons 5-3.

Alex Horsfell and Olly Gorman put the Farmers in control before the break, but a Kris Frost double brought the Dons level within ten minutes of the restart.

However, Matty Raw and a brace from Adam Simpson sealed the points for the Farmers, before John McGee marked his Dons debut with a late consolation.

The other two matches both ended in draws. Jolly Minister and County shared six goals at Stonecross. Gary Elsworth gave the Ministermen an early lead but Brad King fired County level before the break.

Liam Stockill and King again appeared to have given County the points, but Elsworth and Sam Bird scored in the final ten minutes to rescue a point for the hosts.

Osmotherley Rangers and Vale of York also drew 3-3.

Vale’s Andy Beales equalised an early goal from Rangers’ Rich Thompson, but Ossie took control with a strike from Tom Pilling and a second from Thompson midway through the second half.

However, an own goal ten minutes from time brought Vale back into it and Beales completed the comeback two minutes from time.
