REGULAR readers will no doubt be following our attempts to identify a black car parked beside Thirsk town clock in 1965 with growing interest. The vehicle was first shown here on February 17 and has cropped up most weeks since, as readers have discussed whether it could be a highly unusual Citroen 15.
“I was unable to accurately identify this car but I know a man who does,” says David Simpson of Scurragh Lane, near Skeeby. “He is the President of The Early Ford V8 Club of America, United Kingdom Regional Group No 127.
“It is an English Ford Anglia of 1946. These post war cars had no running boards.”
