MEMORIES was delighted to be the guest of the Howden-le-Wear History Society in September, and so to celebrate, here is a collection of Howden-le-Wear pictures that we've been meaning to use for some time.

They seem to relate to village outings, probably connected to the working men's club, from the 1950s, although there are a couple of oddities – there's a huge gathering in High Grange school hall, which is a couple of miles south of Howden-le-Wear, and there's a curious First World War commemorative card.
