A TEES Valley vehicle manufacturing company has celebrated a new milestone with the 20,000th vehicle rolling of the production line.

CPD Bodies, based in Stockton, has established a reputation as a market leader in the design and manufacture of a range of commercial vehicle bodies for hire companies.

Managing Director Cathal Doocey bought the company for just £1 in 2009 when he was just 25 years old. Since then it has grown from having just one member of staff and one workshop to employing 123 people and occupying 60,000sqft of workshop space.

Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen said: “It’s great to see a company in the Tees Valley grow so quickly from such humble beginnings and it proves the considerable potential for business to flourish in our area.

“The 20,000th vehicle rolling off the production line is a major milestone for the company."
