Chris Lloyd is the chief feature writer of The Northern Echo and Darlington & Stockton Times. A former North East Journalist of the Year, he now writes primarily about local history and politics. He has interviewed every Prime Minister since John Major (except Liz Truss who eluded him), and was one of only four people to be invited to appear twice in the first nine series of Michael Portillo’s Great British Railway Journeys. He has written 10 local history books, including a very successful bookazine about the 200th anniversary of the Stockton & Darlington Railway, and he can regularly be seen on TV or heard on radio and podcasts or experienced in person at his many talks, or walks, discussing his articles and sharing his enthusiasm for them
