NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF AN ORDER
HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981
THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF DURHAM (PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO. 72 SPENNYMOOR
PARISH)
PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER 2018
On 2/5/2019 The County Council of Durham confirmed the above order under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980. The effect of the order as confirmed is to divert the public footpath running from a point immediately north-west of Merrington Mill Farm, proceeding in a generally east-south­easterly then south-easterly direction past the buildings to a point south-east of the property onto a line running from the same point north-west of Merrington Mill Farm, proceeding in a generally southerly then easterly direction, to the west and south of the buildings, to the same point south­east of the property, as shown on the order map.
A copy of the order as confirmed and the order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at Spennymoor Library and County Hall Durham during normal opening hours. Copies of the order and map may be bought there at the price of £1.15.
The order comes into force as from 2/5/2019, but if any person aggrieved by the order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 of the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 of the Act, within six weeks from 3/5/2019, make an application to the High Court.
