(BOLTSBURN MINE FOOTBRIDGE (FOOTPATH NO. 42 STANHOPE PARISH, ROOKHOPE WARD), ROOKHOPE) (TEMPORARY FOOTPATH AND FOOTBRIDGE CLOSURE) ORDER 2016
The Council, on 28.04.16 made an Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, as amended, to close to all pedestrian traffic a 30m length of Footpath No. 42 to enable remedial works to be carried out on or adjacent to the said footbridge. The maximum duration of the temporary closure under the Order is 6 months and is required from 02.05.16 and for the duration of the works, anticipated to be 6 months. However, on rare occasions, alternative dates for closures may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly. Alternative route: for pedestrian traffic is from the northern side of the closure westerly via road C21 (passing Rookhope School) for approx. 425m and turning south westerly over Burnside Cottages Bridge onto FP No. 56 and continuing southerly on FP No. 50 then easterly on FP. No. 42 and No. 41 at Boltsburn Mine to the southern side of the closure and vice versa.
