(Byway 12, Yarm Lane, Sedgefield) (Temporary Byway Closure) Order 2021
The Council on 5/11/21 made the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended, Section 14 (1) to prohibit all traffic from proceeding on a 3.3 kilometre length of Byway Number 12, also known as Yarm Lane, that extends southwards from Neasless Farm, Sedgefield to enable culvert, surfacing and settlement works to be undertaken. Alternative route will be available to vehicular traffic from the northern side of the closure from A177 south westwards on Stockton Road then westerly toward Thorpe Leazes and Whitton to the southern side of the closure, and vice versa. Alternative routes for pedestrians are available via the public right of way networks west of the closed byway. There are no alternative routes for equestrians. The closure will apply to all uses for 3 weeks with pedestrian, cycle and equestrian traffic reintroduced when appropriate settling has occurred. The closure for horse drawn and motor vehicles will be required for 6 months. The maximum duration of the Order is 6 months. The proposed works are to commence on 15/11/21 and are anticipated to be completed in 6 months. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly.
