- Continue to sow tender crops in the greenhouse, including tomatoes, aubergine and peppers
- Remove floating electric pond heaters once the weather warms up and the risk of thick ice developing has passed
- Improve surface drainage on your lawn by hollow spiking it
- Keep grass trimmed back from the base of trees growing in grass as this can compete for moisture and nutrients
- If you haven't yet done so, spread a mulch of compost or similar over beds and borders to suppress annual weeds and conserve moisture
- Plant gladioli corms at intervals in the coming months to prolong their flowering season
- Plant a patch of comfrey in a sunny corner of the kitchen garden, as the leaves are great to add to compost and can be used to make a liquid feed
- Divide large congested clumps of pampas grass
