YOUNG talent will feature at a double bill of music for the first Emerging Artist concert of the year.
BlueBoxt is a voluntary-run community group based in Wensleydale which offers opportunities for individuals and groups to participate in performing arts based activities. Two of their young musical outfits are to perform at Leyburn Arts and Community Centre.
Aidan Tulloch and Luke Copeland, The Laurelles, are an Indie vocal duo from Thirsk who have just released their first EP, Prague 9.
They will soon to head out on the European Summer festivals scene. They are also part of the NYMAZ Ambassadors programme which links talented young musicians with industry specialists.
Mentored by music leaders Colin Bailey, James Mainwaring and Mick Yare, Richmond Jam also returns to present a varied programme of jazz standards, popular music with a twist and original material.
This year’s line-up includes Howard Harrington (trumpet), George Mayo (keyboards), James Newsome (guitar), Nathan O’Connor (bass & vocals), Lucy Padgett (vocals) and Jack Pearce (saxophone).
The concert is on Saturday, May 12, 7.30pm; cafe bar open from 6.30pm. Tickets £10, under-18s free, from 01969 624510; for information see oldschoolhouseleyburn.co.uk.
