MEMBERS of Darlington Operatic Society are putting the final touches to their latest production Priscilla Queen of the Desert.

Based on the 1994 smash hit movie, the show follows the journey of two drag queens – Tick, played by Nick Holmes; Luke Oldfield as Adam, and a transgender woman, Bernadette played by Julian Cound – as they travel across Australia in their bus, named Priscilla.

The musical is packed with dance songs from the 1970s and 19 80s by Tina Turner, Cyndi Lauper, Donna Summer, The Village People, Kylie Minogue and many other stars.

Priscilla Queen of the Desert is a flamboyant, heartfelt, disco-fuelled musical guaranteed to get the audience up on their feet. The show is staged at Darlington Hippodrome from Wednesday, April 18, to Saturday 28. The Thursday April 26 show is a British Sign Language interpreted performance.

There is a 14-plus age recommendation for the show. Tickets are available from darlingtonos.org.uk or by calling 01325 244659.
