RENOWNED art historian and BBC presenter Andrew Graham-Dixon is to give a summer lecture in Leyburn based on his recent TV series The Royal Collection and Rome Unpacked.

The event will take place on June 28 at the Garden Rooms at Tennants. Doors open at 6.30pm and the lecture starts at 7pm and will include an interval. A summer menu will be available from 5pm.

Landmark series on art for the BBC include A History of British Art, Renaissance and Art of Eternity, as well as individual documentaries on art and artists.

The focus of his lecture will be insights in to the four-part series Art, Power & Passion: The Story of the Royal Collection, which he wrote and presented. It was the first time in 40 years that the story of the Royal Collection had been told so extensively on TV.

The lecture will also cover the recent BBC series, Rome Unpacked, which Mr Graham Dixon made in conjunction with his friend and chef Giorgio Locatelli.
