ONE of Britain’s top drag queens, La Voix, shimmies back to her roots to present a rare show at Richmond’s Georgian Theatre Royal next Friday.

La Voix, who originates from Elmtree in Stockton, was a semi-finalist on Britain’s Got Talent in 2014 and a 2015 finalist in RuPaul’s Drag Race UK.

She appeared in last year’s hit Absolutely Fabulous Movie and her act is a favourite with the royal family, having performed at new year parties hosted by Princes William and Harry. The Georgian date is the first time she has performed in the region.

Theatre manager Clare Allen said: "La Voix is a vivacious and highly entertaining performer and her cabaret show, with live singing and music, is very classy, very glamorous and super stylish. As far as we know, this is a first for the theatre."

The show focuses on hilarious stories of La Voix’s travels set against diva anthems by Tina Turner, Shirley Bassey, Liza Minnelli, Judy Garland and Cher.

A former pupil of Egglescliffe School, La Voix, 36, started out as TV celebrity David Gest’s PA. She has worked with stars including Mickey Rooney, Cilla Black, Sir Ian McKellen, Pamela Anderson, Brigitte Nielsen and Ruby Wax.

Awards include Best Cabaret Act at the London Cabaret Awards, winner of Drag Idol and most recently best act at the Boys Scene Awards. She will be joined by singer Samantha Atkinson, who was on The X Factor last year. The show starts at 7.30pm. Tickets cost from £11 to £21 on 01748 825252 or via www. georgiantheatreroyal.co.uk.
