JOEL Dommett, one of the contestants in the TV reality show I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here, will appear at Richmond’s Georgian Theatre Royal next year.

The comedian will bring his solo show, Joel Dommett: Live, to the Georgian on Saturday, May 20. The theatre is the only venue in the North-East for his 2017 tour.

“We are delighted to be hosting this event,” said chief executive Clare Allen.

“Dommett is one of the UK’s most energetic and exciting young comedians and, of course, he has become a household name in recent weeks with his impressive and engaging performance in the jungle."

Dommett came on to the comedy scene in 2007 and has never looked back. After receiving critical acclaim for his Edinburgh Fringe shows and being crowned five-time winner of the Comedy Cafe Competition, he has gone on to appear in numerous television shows including Impractical Jokers (BBC3), Reality Bites (ITV2), Russell Howard's Good News (BBC), Drunk History (Comedy Central), Bring The Noise (Sky1s) and has performed in acting roles for Popatron (BBC2) and Skins (E4).

The Richmond date has been released ahead of the theatre’s main spring and summer season and demand for tickets is expected to be high.

Tickets cost £15, £10 for concessions, and are available from the box office on 01748 825252 or via the website www.georgiantheatreroyal.co.uk.
