NORTH Yorkshire artist and musician John Hunter is celebrating again after all his submissions were accepted for display at the Mall Galleries in London.

Mr Hunter, whose studio is in Grinton, near Reeth, has exhibited annually at the Aviation Paintings of the Year since 2002 and is one of only 60 full members of the Guild of Aviation Artists, previously winning best watercolour and runner-up for the Best Picture award.

This year he has painted two tributes to RAF firefighters through the years, and four tributes to test and research pilots including the late Eric "winkle" Brown, who has opened this exhibition in the past, and Tim Peake, the British astronaut.

The exhibition runs from July 18-24.

Mr Hunter’s also paints rural studies, portraits and landscapes – and is often heard playing jazz on the piano at the Black Bull, Moulton.

He will have work in the Spot on the Wall exhibition at Richmond Station this year and is working towards a one-man exhibition next spring.
