CLASSICAL music fans are in for a treat when one of the world’s leading violinists, Chloe Hanslip, joins the Prague Symphony Orchestra at Middlesbrough Town Hall on Wednesday.

The concert follows hot on the heels of a fantastic night with the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra last month, and is the second of the town hall’s major international visitors of the new classical season, helped by Arts Council England funding.

, her US concerto debut in 2003, and quickly established herself as a major player on the international stage.

She has since appeared with a string of top orchestras all over the world, including the Moscow State Symphony.

Conductor Jan Kucera opens the concert with Smetana’s dramatic Sarka from the composer’s symphonic poem Ma Vlast. Hanslip, who made her BBC Proms debut in 2002, then takes centre stage with Beethoven’s Violin Concerto, before the evening ends with Dvorak’s 9th Symphony.
