NORTH Yorkshire musician Susanna Pell gives a concert on Sunday to raise money for young carers in the area.
It is estimated there are up to 700,000 children in Britain who every day care for a sick or alcoholic parent or shop and cook for disabled siblings.
Many are under ten years old. Many skip meals for lack of time or money. They often cannot keep up with school work and miss out on normal childhood play and friendships.
A local group plans to give young carers some stress-free time and is organising workshops and away days in places such as Beamish Museum and the coast.
Sunday's informal coffee concert by the celebrated viol player Susanna Pell takes place at Easby Church, near Richmond, between 10.30 am and 1pm.
Tea, coffee and cakes will be served. Visitors are invited to drop in or out as they like, to listen, read or chat, and make a donation.
