STREET Theatre will form part GeorgeFest in Richmond from Monday to Thursday, August 24-27.
Seasoned showman Tony Lidington will amaze people with his mobile peepshow, one of the most popular forms of street entertainment in the 18th century.
This free event will be explored further in an extended stage performance at the Georgian Theatre Royal on Wednesday, August 26.
Sedan Chair Stories with North Country Theatre, on Saturday, August 29, will give people the chance to taken for a ride around the Market Place in a sedan chair while hearing snippets of Georgian gossip (also free).
Elaborate wigs, delicate powder puffs and fancy silk stockings will be out in force next month when a North Yorkshire town celebrates its Georgian heritage at a brand new summer festival.
GeorgeFest is a new event in Richmond from August 17 to 30. Events and activities taking place throughout the fortnight, indoor and outside, also include guided walks, talks, Georgian toy-making and the opportunity to sample Georgian food.
