NEW full-time artist Robin Puplett is showing work at the Spectrum Picture Framing and Gallery in Thirsk and has donated a framed limited edition print to raise money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

Gallery owners Tim and Jo Roberts have been working with Robin Puplett for about 18 months helping him develop his career.

His first solo exhibition of local landscape paintings at their gallery last year was a sell-out.

He began painting in childhood and is trained in fine art and graphic design. He preferred medium is acrylic on canvas though he also enjoys working with oils or pencil. In 2014, he was shortlisted and featured in the Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year with actor Gary Kemp sitting for him.

His inspiration comes from the landscapes and skies of North Yorkshire and he is often out on the North York Moors or in villages sketching and photographing.

The exhibition runs until tomorrow in the gallery at 5 Kirkgate, Thirsk, where tickets for the limited edition print are available. Opening hours are Tuesday to Friday 9am-5pm, Saturday 9am-4.30pm. For information, contact 01845 527773 or visit spectrumframing.co.uk.
