A QUARTET of female musicians who all play the same instrument will celebrate the 15th anniversary of their group with the premiere of a new composition in the Throne Room at Auckland Castle on Friday, June 12.

Eleanor Turner, Harriet Adie, Keziah Thomas and Elizabeth Scorah, who together make up 4Girls4Harps, will play works by Rachmaninov and Shostakovitch among others, plus the new work, Tetra.

To encourage young harpists to champion the harp in a chamber music setting, they have founded the British Harp Chamber Music Competition, the only one of its kind in the UK.

Tickets for third concert in Bishop Auckland Music Society's 2015 season are available from Brotherton's Music and by contacting Brian Varley on 01388 606075. The concert starts at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £12.50, free to under-18s, and will also be available at the door.
