TICKETS are selling fast and audiences will come from far and wide for Ripon International Festival’s spring concert on May 2.

It offers the chance to spend a bank holiday weekend evening listening to Mozart in the glorious surroundings of Ripon Cathedral.

Mozart’s Prague Symphony, a masterpiece of invention and beauty, is coupled with his much-loved Clarinet Concerto, soloist Michael Whight, whose recent recording with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra received international acclaim and who gave a breathtaking performance of this work last autumn with Janusz Piotrowicz and l’Orchestre du Monde in London.

Watch this space for the announcement of booking for two exciting festival concerts when Royal Northern Sinfonia returns to Ripon Cathedral with the exuberant Vivaldi Four Seasons (Saturday, September 5) and the famous London Mozart Players come to the Royal Hall for the first time in many years with Mendelsson Fingal’s Cave and Violin Concerto and Beethoven’s mighty Eroica Symphony (September 19).

Tickets for the spring concert are on sale at 01765 605508 and Harrogate Theatre on 01423 502116. Online bookings is a riponinternationalfestival.com.
