NATURE and the environment and their interconnection is the theme of the next exhibition at the Inspired by...Gallery at Danby on the North York Moors.

It opens on Thursday with work by James McGairy, of Guisborough, and Peter Reynolds, from Pickering, along with sculptor Darrell Evanes.

A meet the artists session in the gallery at the National Park Centre takes place on Saturday, March 21, from noon-3pm.

McGairy will give demonstrations on Sunday, March 22, and Monday, April 6, between 11am and 3pm.

Also showing is work by award-winning artist and printmaker, Emerson Mayes, from Nidderdale. This exhibition, A Fascination with Fauna, looks at the wildlife of the North York Moors. Mayes is also in attendance from noon-3pm on March 21.

Tomorrow, singer, songwriter and composer Sarah Dean plays her 29-stringed Stoney End Celtic harp in the gallery.
