THE eagerly anticipated annual exhibition of the Society of Wood Engravers will be held at the Zillah Bell Gallery in Thirsk for the third year running.
The work is selected on merit from submissions from all around the world and showcases the finest examples of this challenging medium.
The show comes from the society’s home at the Bankside Gallery and will include work by such notable artists as Ann Desmet, Hilary Paynter, Colin See-Paynton and Simon Brett.
Founded in 1920, the group thrived until the Second World War. It was revived in the 1980s and has built up an international reputation for excellence.
The exhibition opens tomorrow and runs until March 11. The private view is next Friday from 6.30-8.30pm. For more details tel 01845 522479.
