Kathryn Tickell and The Side
FOLK legend Kathryn Tickell brings her new band The Side to Stockton Arc on Tuesday, November 4.
Tickell is the world’s foremost exponent of traditional Northumbrian pipes and is a recipient of the Queen’s Medal for Music. She was BBC Folk Awards’ Musician of the Year in 2013 and – since emerging on to the folk scene in the late 1980s – has clocked up no fewer than three appearances at The Proms, 14 studio albums and collaborations with the likes of Sting, The Chieftains, Beth Nielson Chapman, The Penguin Café Orchestra and folk legend Linda Thompson.
