TEENAGE drama enthusiast Natasha Graham is already showing a talent for portraying unusual characters on stage.

Following her larger-than life-performance last summer as Madame Thénadier in the Saltburn ’53 Youth’s production of Les Misérables, her next role is that of an old crone in this month’s production of Geoff Bamber’s play, Dracula, the Final Countdown at Saltburn Community Theatre.

In this comic retelling of the story, Dracula’s servant Igoretta may be scary, but she is also a lonely soul looking for love.

Tash, 16, who has also played Shakespearean sailors and Dickensian rogues, is enjoying the chance to bring this grotesquely appealing character to life, especially since director Christine Postlethwaite has added Preview rock music to the vampire mix.

Failing to find love among the undead population of Castle Dracula, Igoretta at least has a chance to capture hearts in the audience in a classic Queen song.

Although she plans to study drama, Tash is also passionate about music.

She has an exceptionally fine voice and plays guitar, violin and yangchin.

She is competing in the Music for You national festival, plays her own gigs and was chosen to support Julie Felix in a recent concert in Saltburn.

Performance dates for Dracula, the Final Countdown are July 16-19 at 7.30pm(doors open 6.45pm). Tickets cost £7, concessions £5, from Saltburn Health Food Shop, the theatre box office and online at info@ saltburnarts.co.uk.
