THE summer programme at Helmsley Arts Centre is packed with plenty to engage and surprise all ages.

The live screening programme is showing Monty Python Live (Mostly) at 7pm on July 20, and an encore on Wednesday, July 23, at 7.30pm.

There are operas to enjoy from Don Giovanni, an encore, on Sunday, July 6, at 5.30pm, and La Traviata on Sunday, August 10, at 5.30pm, and screenings from the National Theatre and Royal Shakespeare Company.

Celebrate Midsummer’s Eve on Saturday, June 21, in the company of the glorious Penny Bank Collective. This is a fundraiser for the arts centre, as is the Night of 1,000 Voices with vocalists Mouthful topping the bill, along with Chechelele on Friday, June 20.

Kimber’s Men will be Singing Up A Storm on Saturday, July 12.

Purveyors of sea shanties in Europe, this group never fails to entertain.

Appearing at festivals all over the world and recently featured on BBC2 and BBC4, Kimber’s Men have generated a strong following. Expect to laugh, sing and be generally entertained.
