DARLINGTON Piano Society begins the second half of its season at 3pm on Sunday, January 28, with a recital by the young Ukrainian pianist, Dinara Klinton.
After study in Moscow, she gained a Master of Performance degree with distinction and an Artist Diploma in Performance at the Royal College of Music.
She has won prizes at several international competitions, most noticeably third prize at the Cleveland International Piano Competition in the US (2016).
Her playing has received outstanding praise and her recording of Liszt’s Études d’exécution transcendante, S.139, released in 2016, has been described by Sir Andras Schiff as “astonishing. She is a real virtuoso, a born pianist, a very natural player.”
She has performed widely, both in Britain and in Europe, as both soloist and concerto player.
Her recital at Central Hall, the Dolphin Centre, Darlington, includes Bach-Busoni, Prelude and Fugue in D major, BWV 532; Medtner, Sonata in B flat major "Sonata Romantica", Op 53 No 1; Beethoven, Sonata No 28 in A, op. 101; and Liszt, Transcendental Etudes nos 1-4.
Tickets for single recitals are available in advance from the Dolphin Centre and at the door, £12, under-21, £6. Season tickets for the rest of the season can be bought at the recital.
