AN award-winning artist has launched an exhibition inspired by landmarks and the Tour de Yorkshire.
Lucy Pittaway, voted UK’s best up and coming artist by the Fine Art Trade Guild last year, is the official artist of the three-day international bike race staged in May.
This year’s painting, Pedals, Passion and Glory, is one of many paintings on show at the Dales Countryside Museum in Hawes.
Running until October 2, the exhibition features work from her collection, The Sheep, featuring Yorkshire Dales landmarks such as Penhill, Bolton Castle and Richmond Castle.
The former teacher, who is based in Richmond, said: “I am delighted to work with the Dales Countryside Museum to exhibit so many pieces of work inspired by our stunning Yorkshire Dales. It’s the perfect setting in Hawes and I hope the visitors to the museum enjoy the exhibition.”
