THE Princess and the Pea at Middlesbrough Town Hall on Saturday, November 15, is the latest production by acclaimed Leeds company tutti frutti, with Mike Kenny’s new take on Hans Christian Andersen’s much-loved children’s tale.

The cast includes Danielle Bird (Comedy of Errors, Grosvenor Open Air Theatre), Oliver Mawdsley (One Hundred and One Dalmatians, New Vic Theatre) and Joanna Brown making her professional debut.

Mike Kenny is one of the England’s leading writers, specialising in theatre for young people and families. He is the recipient of many awards, was included in the Independent on Sunday’s list of Top Ten Living UK Playwrights and his plays are performed regularly throughout the UK and all over the world.

The Princess and the Pea is the third autumn/Christmas show he has written for tutti frutti and York Theatre Royal.

Children are invited to dress up as their favourite princess and prince with a prize for the best dressed.
