MAKE It Slow at Rural Arts in Thirsk is an exhibition of contemporary craft work.
The work by six artists employs intricate techniques, sustainable materials and traditional skills and is part of a Slow Movement aimed at getting people to think about the speed of modern life.
It also offers an antidote to quickly made, mass produced objects.
The exhibition is the first of Art Unpacked, a series of touring art exhibitions created by Chrysalis Arts, which brings the best of contemporary art and craft to small venues.
One of the exhibitors, Aimee Betts, will run a braided jewellery workshop on August 29, from10am to noon or 1pm to 3pm, cost £10; book a place on 01845 526536 or at ruralarts.org.
The exhibition at the The Courthouse runs until September 6. Entry is free.
