THE Lord Chamberlain’s Men – a modern incarnation of Shakespeare’s original troupe of the same name – returns to Kiplin Hall this month with its tenth anniversary production of Romeo and Juliet.

As in previous years, the all-male theatre company will set up its stage beside the lake for a performance on August 22.

The tragic tale of feuding families in Verona and the young lovers from across the divide will be told in traditional style by actors dressed in Elizabethan costume in a production enhanced by music and dance.

Dawn Webster, curator at Kiplin Hall, said: “Romeo and Juliet is a wonderful, moving play – one of Shakespeare’s best. The Lord Chamberlain’s Men have performed at Kiplin Hall for the last seven years and their productions are always superb. I am very curious to see the young man who plays Juliet.”

Gates open at 6pm for picnics and the performance starts at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £15, concessions £13, children £8. Contact Kiplin Hall on 01748 818178 or email info@kiplinhall.co.uk The hall is near Scorton on the B6271, midway between Richmond and Northallerton.
